- Validators approved the Bell Protocol 30 testnet upgrade on November 3, 2026.
- The mainnet vote is scheduled for November 23, 2026, at 17:00 UTC.
- Bell adds muxed contract addresses, post-quantum signature verification for smart contracts and millisecond ledger timing.
- The Investing.com page read for this report displayed XLM at 0.15394 USD, while the November 5 UTC close was 0.152884 USD.
The Stellar price remains in focus after validators approved the Bell Protocol 30 upgrade on testnet on November 3. The next decision is scheduled for November 23, 2026, at 17:00 UTC, when validators are due to vote on the mainnet upgrade. Approval is required before Bell can take effect on mainnet.
According to Coinranking, the testnet vote passed and Bell is now live on testnet. The report states that mainnet remains separate and is not yet upgraded.
What Bell changes
The Stellar Development Foundation describes three proposed changes. CAP-84 introduces muxed contract addresses, allowing a smart contract to associate transfers with different customer identifiers. CAP-87 enables ML-DSA post-quantum signature verification inside smart contracts. CAP-88 adds millisecond ledger timing, removing a technical barrier to future efforts to reduce ledger close times.
The upgrade does not itself make the network faster, and regular network transaction signatures remain Ed25519 for now. Developers, wallets, exchanges and infrastructure operators must update software and ledger-data handling before the relevant votes.
Access expands through MetaMask
A separate ecosystem development came on October 29, when Stellar announced that MetaMask had made Stellar a default network in its mobile and extension products. Existing MetaMask accounts receive a Stellar address, and users can manage XLM, trustline assets and Soroban tokens alongside assets on other supported networks. The integration is an access catalyst, but it does not guarantee demand for XLM.
Price remains below key averages
The Investing.com Stellar page read for this report displayed XLM at 0.15394 USD, with a market capitalization of 5.45 billion USD, 24-hour volume of 192.36 million USD and a displayed rank of 17. For the required daily comparison, Mercatus Data recorded a November 5 UTC close of 0.152884 USD, down 8.87% on that day. The displayed Investing.com price was therefore about 0.69% above that verified close, a move too small to make the price change the main story.
Mercatus Data also placed the November 5 close below the 20-day, 50-day and 200-day moving averages. For investors, the near-term setup therefore combines a scheduled governance event and broader network-access progress with continued technical weakness. Bell's mainnet vote remains the next defined project milestone, not a completed mainnet upgrade.
