- The TA-35 closed 3.09% higher at 3,941.14 points on Friday, November 6.
- Banking, financial and insurance shares led the recovery, while the index remained below its level at the start of November.
- The rebound followed two steep declines, including a 3.69% fall on Thursday.
The TA-35 ended Friday's Tel Aviv session with a clear recovery after two steep declines. The benchmark gained 3.09% to close at 3,941.14 points on November 6, according to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The close was recorded at 13:44:18 Israel time, and the market was subsequently shown as closed.
Financial shares lead recovery
The index opened at 3,826.92 points and reached an intraday high of 3,947.93. Banking stocks were among the main supports: Israel Discount Bank rose 5.60%, Bank Hapoalim gained 4.53%, Mizrahi-Tefahot added 4.27% and Leumi advanced 4.17%, based on the exchange's dated constituent data. Nova rose 7.29% and Tower Semiconductor gained 4.12%, while Teva added 0.91%.
The broader market also strengthened. According to Ynet, financial and insurance shares led the rebound, while the banking, financial and insurance indexes all posted gains. The report described Friday's move as a recovery after the heavy losses of the previous two sessions.
Losses from earlier week remain
Thursday's 3.69% decline followed a 1.96% fall on Wednesday. The latest TASE data show that Friday's advance lifted the TA-35 above Thursday's 3,823.18-point close, but the index still stood 2.90% lower for the month as of November 6. The session therefore marked a substantial rebound rather than a full reversal of the week's pressure.
Market attention remains focused on the interaction between local financial shares and global technology sentiment. Ynet reported that the previous Wall Street sell-off was associated with concerns about artificial-intelligence investment and possible restrictions on data-center construction following the US midterm elections. For TA-35 investors, the recovery in banks and insurers was a notable counterweight to the technology-led volatility seen earlier in the week.
