Zcash price rises 7.09 percent to 1,355.87 USD

Zcash (ZEC) rises 7.09 percent to 1,355.87 USD on October 26, 2026, and the Zcash price is ranked ninth by market value, according to Investing.com. Developers have selected a mainnet activation block for the NU7 network upgrade, giving the protocol a dated technical milestone.

NU7 changes 25-second blocks

According to CoinDesk, developers selected block 3,543,405 on October 21, 2026, with activation targeted for November 5, 2026. NU7 is designed to reduce the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, while 60 percent of transaction fees are removed from circulation for future mining rewards. The upgrade also disables Zcash's original Sprout privacy system, which affects funds left in that system when the change activates.

The Zcash Foundation said on October 22, 2026, that Zebra 7.0.0 supports NU7 on mainnet and includes fixes for seven security advisories. Mainnet node operators are instructed to upgrade before block 3,543,405 so they remain on the consensus chain.

ETF inflows reach 20.5 million USD
