ADC Therapeutics said on October 29, 2026, that its Japanese licensing partner Tanabe Pharma filed a marketing authorization application for ZYNLONTA in relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The filing covers patients who have received at least two lines of systemic therapy, according to PR Newswire.

Japanese filing sets next milestone

The application was submitted to Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare after results from a Phase 1/2 bridging study. In the Phase 2 portion, ZYNLONTA produced a 58.1 percent overall response rate and a 41.9 percent complete response rate. Median duration of response had not been reached after a median follow-up of 15.21 months, and the release said no new safety concerns were identified.

New partner supports commercialization

Tanabe Pharma also entered an exclusive sublicensing agreement with Nippon Shinyaku for commercialization in Japan. Tanabe will remain responsible for ongoing development and the regulatory application, while Nippon Shinyaku is expected to contribute Japanese hematology and oncology commercial capabilities.

The filing is subject to regulatory review and does not establish that ZYNLONTA will receive approval or generate commercial revenue in Japan. ADC Therapeutics said the next milestones include acceptance of the application and the first commercial sale in Tanabe Pharma's territory.
