Coursera reported its third-quarter 2026 results on Thursday, October 29, with revenue of USD 376.7 million for the period ended September 30. The company narrowed its full-year revenue outlook to USD 1.229 billion to USD 1.237 billion, while the integration of Udemy remained the main strategic focus.

According to the Coursera investor release, reported revenue increased 94 percent from the year-earlier quarter. Enterprise revenue reached USD 200.9 million, while consumer revenue was USD 175.8 million. The company posted a GAAP net loss of USD 25.6 million and non-GAAP net income of USD 57.1 million, or USD 0.21 per diluted share.

Integration drives the outlook

Coursera expects fourth-quarter revenue of USD 358 million to USD 366 million and adjusted EBITDA of USD 55 million to USD 59 million. Management said the guidance includes Udemy results from the May 11 transaction close and reflects the pace of expected synergy realization during 2026.

The company said actions representing more than USD 150 million in annualized gross cost savings are intended to support the original USD 115 million annual run-rate net synergy target. Coursera also said it had repurchased approximately 18.1 million shares for USD 102 million during the quarter and had bought back more than USD 215 million since the program was announced in May.

AI platform is next catalyst

Coursera previewed Project Helix, an AI-native skills platform designed to connect learning with verified skills. Broad availability to enterprise customers is expected in the first half of 2027, putting product execution and adoption alongside merger integration on the investor agenda.

Business model and competition

Coursera is a U.S.-based online learning platform that works with universities and industry partners to offer courses, Specializations, Professional Certificates and degrees to individual and enterprise learners. Its platform also provides AI-supported personalization and role-based learning solutions for fields including generative AI, data science, technology and business. A Mordor Intelligence market analysis describes the sector as moderately fragmented, with Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, edX and DataCamp among the principal competitors. Coursera's combination with Udemy gives it broader coverage across university credentials, marketplace content and enterprise learning, while the market remains without a single dominant provider.
