DL E&C stock faces a major Seoul redevelopment bid catalyst action not price move? no question
Published on 10/07/2026 at 03:55 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSDL E&C stock was trading at KRW 73,400 on the KOSPI on October 7, 2026 at 10:34 a.m. KST, down KRW 600 or 0.81 percent from the prior close. The construction group is weighing a major Seoul redevelopment opportunity against a second-quarter revenue decline.
Seongsu project reaches a key stage
DL E&C was selected as the preferred bidder for Seongsu District 2, a redevelopment project with a construction cost of KRW 2.01 trillion. According to Seoul Economic Daily on September 30, the company was the sole bidder in both the contractor tender and the site briefing process.
The project would include buildings rising as high as 65 stories, and DL E&C has also signed a financial services agreement with 10 banks and brokerages for the redevelopment zone. The size of the project gives the bid greater financial relevance than a routine housing contract, although final execution remains tied to the redevelopment process.
Revenue falls while profit holds up
In the second quarter of 2026, DL E&C reported revenue of KRW 1.80 trillion, down 9.5 percent from a year earlier, while operating profit reached KRW 159.4 billion and net income KRW 129.7 billion. These figures were reported for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, by ATS View.
The contrast matters for investors: the top line contracted, but the quarterly operating margin was 8.8 percent. In the first quarter, revenue was KRW 1.73 trillion and operating profit was KRW 157.4 billion, so the second quarter delivered higher revenue and operating profit sequentially even as net income declined from KRW 160.1 billion.
