- Institutional orders reached KRW 1.38 trillion for KCC's planned bond offering.
- The company plans to use the proceeds to refinance short-term notes and commercial paper maturing from November.
- The two-year and three-year tranches were priced below their benchmark yields.
KCC drew institutional orders worth KRW 1.38 trillion on October 27 for a planned KRW 200 billion bond offering, according to Seoul Economic Daily. The demand came during KCC's third bond bookbuilding of 2026 and points to continued access to institutional funding, although the transaction itself is debt financing rather than an operating performance update.
Strong demand across both tranches
The planned issue comprises two-year and three-year portions. Orders for the shorter tranche reached KRW 560 billion against a KRW 80 billion target, while the longer tranche attracted KRW 820 billion against a KRW 120 billion target.
Both tranches were reported at nine basis points below the benchmark yield for comparable maturities. KCC had set an initial target range of 30 basis points below to 30 basis points above its individual benchmark yield.
Refinancing remains the stated use
KCC said it intends to use the proceeds to refinance KRW 200 billion of short-term notes and commercial paper maturing in stages from November 2026. The company also retained the option to increase the issue to as much as KRW 400 billion, depending on the bookbuilding outcome.
For investors, the transaction provides a current read-through on demand for KCC credit rather than a direct signal for the equity valuation. The Seoul Economic Daily report identified the bonds as AA- rated with a stable outlook. It also noted that the refinancing plan could allow KCC to match a larger issue with its upcoming maturities.
