- Lojas Quero-Quero is pursuing a more measured expansion strategy as funding costs remain high.
- VerdeCard portfolio growth and digital sales are central to the updated investment case.
- The analysis keeps its fair-value estimate unchanged while emphasizing cash generation and margin resilience.
Lojas Quero-Quero is facing a more cautious growth narrative as higher funding costs put greater emphasis on credit quality, cash generation and operating resilience. A Simply Wall St analysis updated on October 24 said the investment thesis now places more weight on disciplined expansion and the VerdeCard credit business.
A more measured expansion path
The analysis says Lojas Quero-Quero continues to expand across Brazil's interior markets, with a store base spanning 495 cities. Compared with the earlier focus on rapid rollout, the updated view accepts slower expansion and lower capital spending as a trade-off for stronger cash generation and greater margin resilience.
Credit and digital sales matter
VerdeCard portfolio growth was cited at 12% to 14% in the first half of 2026, while 90-day delinquency was placed in a range of 11.8% to 12.5%. The analysis also treats digital and phygital sales, estimated at 23% to 28% of revenue, as an established part of the business mix rather than only a future margin opportunity.
The assessment keeps its fair-value estimate at 3.40 Brazilian real and leaves its medium-term revenue-growth assumption broadly unchanged. The main tension for investors is between a slower store rollout and the potential for tighter credit management and a more balanced sales mix to support profitability.
The Bovespa market reports provide the broader context for Brazilian equities.
Lojas Quero-Quero sells construction materials, appliances and furniture in Brazil, serving customers through its retail network and related financial services. Its operating model combines physical stores with digital and phygital channels, while VerdeCard adds an in-house credit component. The company is positioned toward Brazil's interior markets, giving it a more regionally focused profile than nationwide generalist retailers.
