PT Merdeka Copper Gold reported product sales of USD 817.3 million for the third quarter of 2026, according to IDXChannel in a report published on Monday, November 2, 2026. Nickel products, including nickel pig iron, limonite ore and high-grade nickel matte, made the largest contribution.
Gold output gains momentum
Pani Gold Mine produced 26,331 ounces during the quarter, 69 percent more than in the previous quarter as heap-leach capacity increased. Tujuh Bukit produced 23,811 ounces, bringing combined gold production from the two mines to 50,142 ounces.
Nickel ore production in Sulawesi reached quarterly records. Saprolite output rose 68 percent year over year to 3.3 million wet metric tonnes, while limonite increased 62 percent to 9 million wet metric tonnes. Nickel content in nickel pig iron reached 20,553 tonnes, and high-grade nickel matte production stood at 9,436 tonnes.
Processing projects add diversification
The Acid Iron Metal facility sold about 290,000 tonnes of sulfuric acid worth USD 98.4 million. The product supports high-pressure acid-leach operations at the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park. Wetar produced 1,265 tonnes of copper during the quarter, while bioleaching recovered 35 tonnes.
Merdeka Copper Gold is also progressing with the first carbon-in-leach facility at Pani. The company says basic engineering is complete, major equipment procurement has been completed and construction contractors have begun mobilizing. A second facility of similar scale is planned, with the combined projects intended to lift Pani's annual gold capacity if completed as planned.
