- Soudal-QuickStep and AG Insurance-Soudal will replace Specialized with Merida bicycles.
- The partnership also links Merida with the teams' technical development and performance work.
- Reacto and Time-Warp frames will form the basis of the teams' racing equipment.
Merida's stock story gained a new industry angle on October 20, 2026, when Soudal-QuickStep and AG Insurance-Soudal announced a switch from Specialized to Merida bicycles. Cyclingnews reported that the agreement covers the men's and women's WorldTour teams and starts next season.
Teams change bike supplier
The men's squad will race under the name Soudal-Safety Jogger, while the women's team retains the AG Insurance-Soudal identity. Merida's Reacto road frames and Time-Warp time-trial frames will anchor the new equipment package.
The wider technical programme includes Shimano Dura-Ace wheelsets, Continental tyres, Prologo saddles and Lazer helmets. The teams said the products had been assessed in wind-tunnel testing and on the road, with Merida also working with the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub.
The agreement gives Merida a renewed presence in elite men's road racing after the brand's previous WorldTour involvement with Bahrain Victorious. For investors, the announcement is strategically relevant because it increases the visibility of Merida's products among professional teams, although the report does not quantify any financial contribution from the partnership.
Merida's bicycle business
Merida designs and builds bicycles across road, mountain-bike, gravel, urban and electric-bike categories, including the Reacto, Scultura, Silex and eONE-EIGHTY families, according to the company's corporate website. Cyclingnews describes the company as Taiwanese, with a product range that spans performance road bikes and other cycling segments. Merida operates in the international bicycle market alongside brands such as Specialized, while its professional-racing position is more focused on selected team partnerships than on broad market leadership claims.
