Nitori stock: Second India store extends Mumbai expansion

Nitori has opened its second store in India at Sky City Mall in Borivali, Mumbai, marking another step in the Japanese home furnishings group's overseas expansion. Retail4Growth reported the opening on October 19, 2026.

The new store is located on the lower ground floor of Sky City Mall and follows Nitori's India debut at R City Mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, in December 2024. The expansion takes the group's worldwide store network to 1,093 outlets, according to the report.

India becomes a broader growth market

Nitori said the second Mumbai location reflects its intention to reach more Indian consumers with furniture and home furnishings. The company highlighted India's potential and described the latest opening as part of its wider global store expansion.

The timing also places the store ahead of India's festive shopping season, when demand for home and lifestyle products typically receives additional attention. For investors, the opening offers a visible indicator of Nitori's international expansion strategy, while the commercial impact will depend on customer traffic and the pace of further openings.

Nitori sells furniture, home decor and related household products through a retail network built around Japanese design, functionality and accessible pricing.
