- Ping An Bank reported higher operating income and shareholder profit for the first nine months of 2026.
- Capital ratios strengthened while credit quality remained broadly stable.
- Retail assets and corporate deposits expanded, supporting the bank's business mix.
Ping An Bank reported steady growth for the first nine months of 2026, with operating income rising 2.4 percent year over year to RMB 103.1 billion and net profit attributable to shareholders increasing 2.2 percent to RMB 39.186 billion. The third-quarter report was released on October 24, according to Futunn.
Core banking remains resilient
Net interest income increased 0.3 percent in the nine-month period. The bank's third-quarter net interest margin reached 1.80 percent, supported by lower corporate deposit costs and broader efforts to build cheaper funding sources.
Corporate loans rose 2.7 percent from the end of 2025, while corporate deposits increased 4.0 percent. Retail customer numbers and managed retail client assets also expanded, although personal loans edged lower from year-end.
Credit indicators remain stable
Ping An Bank's non-performing loan ratio stood at 1.05 percent at the end of September, unchanged from year-end 2025. The loan-loss reserve coverage ratio was 214.75 percent, while the Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio improved to 9.61 percent.
The results point to a bank balancing modest balance-sheet expansion with pressure on lending yields. Lower funding costs and growth in non-interest income helped offset a still demanding margin environment, while provisioning and credit management remain important variables for the next reporting periods.
