Pure Foods Tasmania said on October 28 that quarterly operating cash outflow fell to AUD 311,000 in the three months to September 30, according to Food & Drink Business. Customer receipts reached AUD 1.22 million, supported largely by acquisitions and new customers.

Cash burn improves, funding remains tight

Manufacturing and operating payments fell to AUD 797,000, while administration and corporate payments declined to AUD 265,000. The company still ended the quarter with negative cash of AUD 381,000 and had drawn AUD 3.1 million of total facilities.

Pure Foods Tasmania said it had AUD 1.41 million in unused financing facilities. Based on the quarter's operating cash outflow, available funding covered 3.3 quarters at the prevailing rate.

December quarter sets next test

Management plans to convert its sales pipeline into confirmed orders during the December quarter, which includes the Christmas and summer trading period. It also aims to expand retail, distribution and contract manufacturing opportunities, lift production volumes and improve plant utilisation while controlling costs and working capital.

The Hobart-based group owns Woodbridge Smokehouse, Tasmanian Pate, Daly Potato Co, Brilliant Food Australia and an ice cream division. Robert Knight has served as managing director and CEO since July 1, while the company has added operations and sales leadership to support its commercial plans.
