REC stock slips as bond trading and FY26 profits stay strong

FY26 still points up

For the full year ended March 2026, REC reported consolidated revenue of INR 59,628.35 crore, up 6.6 percent from INR 56,434.03 crore a year earlier, according to the company figures reproduced by Upstox. Profit after tax rose to INR 16,308.17 crore from INR 15,884.23 crore in FY25, while diluted EPS increased to INR 61.81 from INR 60.20.

That combination matters for investors because the earnings line is still growing even as the share price has fallen 18.83 percent over the past 12 months. The stock's 52-week range of INR 304.05 to INR 390.30 shows it is now close to the lower end of that band.

Tokenized bond adds a twist

REC was also tied to India's first tokenized corporate bond pilot, which raised INR 500 crore with a one-year-and-nine-month tenor and a 7.30 percent coupon, according to PwC. A separate report said the issue attracted bids of INR 796 crore and was settled on the same day.

On the debt side, NSE data showed REC Limited's 7.67 percent 2031 bond at a close of 310.20 and the same session price change of minus 0.58 percent as of September 21, 2026, with market capitalization listed at INR 480.57 lakh crore on the exchange page. The stock's own market capitalization on Upstox stood at INR 81,998.60 crore as of September 18, 2026.
