- State Bank of India will consider its September-quarter and first-half results at a November 3 board meeting.
- Net interest margins, credit growth, deposit costs and asset quality are the key indicators for the upcoming release.
- The bank enters the event with strong first-quarter profit, loan growth and improved non-performing loan ratios.
State Bank of India is approaching a key earnings event as its board prepares to consider results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026. The schedule and investor questions were outlined by NiftyTrader in an analysis published on October 31.
Margins Set The Earnings Test
The Central Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in Mumbai. An analyst meeting is planned for 5:15 p.m. Indian Standard Time after the results are released, while the trading window is expected to reopen 48 hours after the announcement.
Investors are likely to focus on the quality of earnings rather than headline profit alone. NiftyTrader highlighted net interest margins, deposit costs, loan growth, fresh slippages and treasury income as important indicators for the September quarter.
State Bank of India reported standalone net profit of INR 211.21 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, according to the analysis. Net interest income reached INR 469.92 billion, gross advances grew 18.63 percent year over year and domestic net interest margin was 3.00 percent. Gross non-performing assets stood at 1.47 percent and net non-performing assets at 0.38 percent in that quarter.
The comparison with the year-earlier September quarter requires care because that period included a INR 45.93 billion gain from the sale of the bank's Yes Bank stake. The upcoming release should therefore give investors a clearer view of recurring operating performance, margin resilience and provisions.
