Shoe Station Group is expanding automated hiring across its store network, according to a Fountain press release dated October 15, 2026. The retailer said it moved requisitions, interview scheduling and pipeline analysis onto Fountain across more than 420 stores.
The company reported that time to hire fell from about 14 days to six days. Applicant drop-off declined from roughly 60 percent to 35 percent, while candidates can schedule interviews and receive offer letters through the new workflow.
Store managers regain selling time
Shoe Station Group said the software handles administrative work such as scheduling, candidate follow-up and paperwork. Store managers continue to meet candidates and decide whom to hire, but spend less time managing the process manually.
For investors, the rollout is an operational efficiency measure rather than a change to the retailer's merchandise strategy. Its potential significance depends on whether faster recruiting helps stores maintain staffing levels and customer service during the holiday selling period.
Shoe Station Group stock is the listed equity of a US footwear retailer operating under the Shoe Carnival and Shoe Station banners. The company offers dress, casual and athletic footwear for men, women and children through stores and online channels.
