- Nomura expects integration benefits from cost efficiencies and sourcing advantages to support a gradual recovery.
- Analysts identified cost execution and earnings recovery as key issues for investors.
- HSBC retained its Buy rating, while Tata Motors continues to expand its commercial-vehicle and electric-vehicle portfolio.
Tata Motors shares gained 8% in Thursday trading, according to Business Today. The November 5 report focused on the potential benefits of Tata Motors' completed Iveco acquisition and on the execution risks that could shape the recovery in profitability.
Analysts Focus On Integration
Nomura said the transaction could create integration benefits through cost efficiencies and sourcing advantages. It maintained a target of Rs 511 and said the pace of cost optimisation and earnings recovery would remain important monitorables.
HSBC retained its Buy rating with a target of Rs 500. Business Today reported that the 12-month consensus target stood at Rs 503, based on 25 recommendations, while the brokerage range cited in the report extended from Rs 416 to Rs 645.
The analyst view also points to pressure inside Iveco. European commercial-vehicle demand remains uneven, and Nomura said Iveco's industrial margin fell to zero in the third quarter of calendar 2026. The report said a gradual improvement in profitability was expected over 2028 and 2029, although execution remains central to that outlook.
Electric Vehicles Add A Growth Track
Nuvama said Tata Motors was broadening its electric-vehicle pipeline across small commercial vehicles and trucks. The brokerage also pointed to growing electric-bus and electric-truck adoption, supported by government policy and rising customer acceptance.
Tata Motors Builds Mobility Portfolio
Tata Motors is a mobility group developing products and services around sustainable fuels, technology and materials, according to its investor information. Its commercial-vehicle operations cover the Indian market and, through Iveco, extend into European trucks and buses. The group is also expanding its electric-vehicle offering across commercial-vehicle categories.
