- Third-quarter orders increased as demand in the Americas supported record quarterly sales.
- Robotics expansion and margin recovery supported management's decision to reaffirm full-year guidance.
- Parts availability, inflation and weaker demand in some international markets remain operating challenges.
Tennant Company reported record third-quarter sales on November 2, 2026, while robotics growth and improving margins supported a reaffirmation of its full-year outlook. According to the Financial Times company announcement, net sales reached 322.3 million US dollars in the quarter ended September 30, up 6.2 percent from a year earlier.
Orders rose 9.5 percent year over year, with North America providing the strongest regional momentum. Robotics sales increased 71 percent to 37.3 million US dollars, supported by equipment demand, autonomy subscriptions and the recent launch of the P1 autonomous vacuum.
Guidance holds despite cost pressure
Tennant kept its 2026 guidance for net sales of 1.27 billion to 1.31 billion US dollars, adjusted diluted earnings per share of 3.80 to 4.45 US dollars and adjusted EBITDA of 155 million to 170 million US dollars. The company cited an elevated backlog of approximately 118 million US dollars and continued order growth as support for fourth-quarter visibility.
Reported net income rose to 19.5 million US dollars from 14.9 million US dollars in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted EBITDA fell to 48.8 million US dollars from 49.8 million US dollars, however, as inflation, parts shortages, ERP-related costs and investment in robotics offset the benefit of higher volume, pricing and tariff refunds.
