- Mass production of the Fiat Doblo has started at Tofas' Bursa factory under the K9 project.
- The project also covers light commercial vehicles for Citroen, Opel and Peugeot under a joint investment with Stellantis.
Tofas announced on October 26 that mass production of the Fiat Doblo had begun at its Bursa factory under the K9 project. MarkLines reported the development on October 27.
The K9 program represents an investment of around USD 300 million and is being developed with Stellantis. Production is planned for five light commercial vehicle models from four brands, including the Fiat Doblo, Citroen Berlingo, Opel Combo and Peugeot Rifter.
Production broadens Bursa role
The start of serial production adds the Doblo to the Bursa factory's output and strengthens Tofas' role in Stellantis' light commercial vehicle manufacturing network. For investors, the development is an operational milestone because it moves the K9 program from investment and preparation into vehicle production.
The scale of the financial contribution and the pace of future deliveries will determine how materially the project affects Tofas' results. The announcement confirms the production launch but does not itself establish a forecast for revenue or earnings.
