- Umm Al Qura increased third-quarter revenue as higher land sales lifted the contribution from Masar Destination.
- Nine-month profit edged higher despite the company remaining focused on land transactions and destination development.
- Masar's investment case depends on converting land sales and partnerships into a broader Makkah real-estate platform.
Umm Al Qura for Development and Construction reported a strong third quarter on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as higher land sales lifted profit and revenue. Ajel English reported that the company attributed the increase to higher land sales in both value and plot volume.
Land sales drive quarterly growth
Net profit reached SAR 666.92 million in the third quarter, compared with SAR 516.57 million a year earlier. Revenue rose to about SAR 1.64 billion from SAR 1.27 billion, while profit increased from SAR 216.1 million in the second quarter.
For the first nine months, profit came to SAR 927.95 million, compared with SAR 912.9 million in the same period of 2025. Revenue for the period rose to SAR 2.6 billion from SAR 2.4 billion. The figures underline the importance of plot disposals to the company's earnings profile and leave future results sensitive to the timing and mix of additional transactions.
Masar remains the core investment case
Umm Al Qura owns, develops and operates MASAR Destination in Makkah. The company's investor relations page describes the project as a major redevelopment destination combining real estate development with hospitality, residential, retail and service uses.
The latest results strengthen the financial contribution of land sales, but they also highlight a central consideration for investors: recurring performance will depend on the continued monetization of Masar plots and the progress of development partners. The business therefore combines a large long-term urban project with transaction-driven quarterly earnings.
Position in Saudi real estate
Umm Al Qura is a Saudi developer focused on the Makkah market, with Masar as its principal platform. The company is more concentrated on one major destination than listed peers such as Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development, Emaar The Economic City and Knowledge Economic City, which are included in the broader Saudi real-estate development industry by Simply Wall Street. That concentration gives Masar a distinctive regional focus while making execution at the destination especially important.
