- Ushio is accepting orders for UX-4 projection aligners using LED light sources.
- The equipment targets power semiconductors, MEMS sensors and optical semiconductor applications.
- Ushio plans to announce second-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, on November 6.
Ushio said on Tuesday, November 3, that it is accepting orders for two LED light-sourced projection aligners designed for semiconductor manufacturing. The company presented the UX-44101SCB and UX-45114SCB in an article published by EE Times.
LED equipment addresses exposure challenges
The UX-4 series is a full-field projection aligner for power semiconductors, MEMS sensors and optical semiconductor applications. Ushio said its LED light source reaches an intensity comparable with conventional mercury lamps, addressing longer exposure times that can arise when light intensity is insufficient.
The equipment supports wafer processes including bump formation and wafer-level packaging. Ushio lists productivity of at least 120 wafers per hour, along with mercury-free operation, automated handling and exposure of three-dimensional surfaces.
Results due before the weekend
Ushio's investor-relations calendar lists the announcement of second-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, for Friday, November 6. The company last highlighted first-quarter results on August 4.
