Almonty Industries saw its shares fall 5.52% in a single session, closing at C$18.81 and breaching the 200-day moving average of C$19.15. For chart watchers, that technical breakdown is a red flag on the long-term trend. Yet the broader picture tells a more nuanced story: the stock remains up 55.84% since the start of the year, even if it now sits more than 40% below the April high of C$33.35.

The decline has been building for weeks. Over the past 30 days, Almonty has shed 19.58% of its value, and the relative strength index has dropped to 38.8, edging into oversold territory. The weekly loss stands at 2.29%.

A Three-Exchange Strategy Gets Streamlined

The price action is unfolding against a backdrop of significant structural change. Almonty is in the final stages of pulling out of two stock exchanges to concentrate liquidity where it matters most.

On July 24, the company received final approval from the Australian Securities Exchange for a voluntary delisting. Trading in the CHESS Depositary Interests will cease on August 28, with the full removal from the ASX scheduled for September 1. The move follows the earlier decision to exit the Toronto Stock Exchange, where the last day of trading is set for July 31.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Almonty?

The reasoning is straightforward: the Australian-listed securities represent only about 0.80% of total shares outstanding, and the compliance and administrative costs no longer justify maintaining the listing. Going forward, Almonty will focus its primary trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker ALM, supplemented by its existing Frankfurt listing. Shareholders in Canada and Australia can typically transfer their holdings to the Nasdaq register through international brokers.

The company has also relocated its corporate headquarters from Toronto to Dillon, Montana, aligning with its strategy to position itself as a Western supplier of critical minerals for defense and advanced technology sectors. The Nasdaq listing is designed to attract institutional investors who view tungsten as a strategic material.

Sangdong Delivers Operational Momentum

While the market structure is being overhauled, the operational side of the business is hitting its stride. On July 1, Almonty began processing stockpiled ore at the Sangdong tungsten mine in South Korea, marking the transition from mine developer to active producer. The facility is currently working through an ore inventory of approximately 139,700 tonnes that was built up through the end of June.

Almonty at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

That production ramp is backed by a recently extended offtake agreement with Global Tungsten & Powders. The contract now runs for 21 years, stretching into the late 2040s, and covers roughly 90% of the mine’s Phase I output. The extension increased the contracted delivery volumes by 40%, providing a solid revenue foundation that stands in sharp contrast to the recent share price weakness.

For investors, the near-term focus will be on two key dates: the TSX delisting on July 31 and the continued ramp-up of Sangdong’s first phase. Whether the C$18.81 level marks a bottom or simply another waypoint in the migration-driven volatility remains to be seen, but the underlying business narrative has rarely been clearer.
