Bald Hill's Deep High-Grade Antimony Strikes Bolster Antimony Resources as SRK Resource Estimate Awaits

Antimony Resources reports up to 26.9% antimony at Bald Hill, with deep extensions to 495m and an imminent resource estimate, positioning as a key non-Chinese supplier in the critical minerals race.

Antimony has become one of the most strategically charged metals in the critical-minerals race, and Antimony Resources is positioning itself squarely in that spotlight. With China supplying roughly 48% of global mined antimony in 2023 and the United States having produced none domestically since 2001, any non-Chinese discovery with high grades and scale commands attention. The company’s Bald Hill project in New Brunswick is now delivering both.

The latest drill results, released in two batches in mid-May, turned heads for their combination of grade and depth. Assays from hole BH-26-10 returned 26.9% antimony in stibnite-rich core, while BH-26-08 yielded 26.7% in a broader mineralised interval. The deepest reported intersection reached 495 metres, suggesting the system extends well beyond near-surface zones. Earlier holes had already shown 8.1% and 13.9% antimony over widths of up to 6.2 metres, but the second wave pushed that envelope to 15 metres of mineralised core.

These results come as Antimony Resources ramps up a fully funded 19,000-metre drilling campaign. Roughly 13,000 metres are earmarked for the Main Zone, with another 6,000 metres allocated to three newly defined targets: the Marcus Zone, BH Central Zone and BH South Zone. Since April, the company has completed more than 25,000 metres across 77 holes, and three rigs are now turning on the 37-square-kilometre property. Prospecting, trenching and soil sampling are running in parallel.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?

The immediate catalyst, however, is the first official mineral resource estimate from SRK Consultants, expected this month. The recent drilling programme alone contributed 12,500 metres of data, and the roughly 50-metre grid spacing is tight enough to support a Canadian-standard resource statement. An earlier technical report sketched a conceptual target of 2.7 million tonnes averaging 3% to 4% antimony, but that number remains a target, not a resource. SRK’s deliverable will transform Bald Hill from a collection of high-grade intercepts into a measurable asset.

The market has already taken notice, albeit with characteristic volatility. The stock closed at C$0.98 on the CSE on the day of the second assay release, gaining about 21%. That followed a 25.6% jump to C$1.03 and a subsequent 18.7% pullback, reflecting the speculative nature of exploration equities. In US trading, the last reported close was $0.68.

Antimony’s price backdrop adds another layer. The metal currently trades at $51.80 per kilogram, a 171.77% surge from the start of 2024. China’s temporary suspension of export restrictions on critical minerals to the United States runs until November 2026, but the structural supply tightness remains: defence demand is firm, refining capacity outside China is limited, and supply-chain risk is a persistent political theme. New Brunswick, with its improved critical-mineral regulatory environment, offers a jurisdictional advantage.

Looking ahead, Antimony Resources is pursuing a formal permit for the Bald Hill project, with a target of late 2026 or early 2027. SRK is also conducting a technical gap analysis alongside environmental and engineering studies. In the near term, the narrative hinges on two things: assay results from more than 1,500 core samples still in the lab, and the resource statement that will either confirm the project’s promise or temper expectations.
