Investors in Biogena Group Invest have had plenty to cheer about this week, with the stock climbing 4.67 percent on Tuesday to close at €5.60 — just shy of its 52-week peak of €5.70. The rally caps a remarkable run that has seen the share price nearly double since the start of the year, gaining 89.77 percent. Yet with the relative strength index sitting at 75.9, the stock is flashing overbought signals, suggesting a breather may be in order after Monday’s fresh high.

The surge comes as the subscription period for a capital increase at parent company Biogena Good Vibes AG draws to a close today, 22 July 2026. CEO and founder Albert Schmidbauer told APA he was pleased with demand, noting that a significant portion of subscribers came from the company’s existing community. The offering, which makes up to five million new shares available at €4.803 apiece, is expected to raise gross proceeds of up to €25 million and value the holding company at roughly €475 million. At least 2,000 new shareholders are set to join the register as a result.

For shareholders of Biogena Group Invest — the subsidiary that has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 2020 and holds around four percent of the limited partnership interests in the Austrian distribution arm — the immediate structure remains unchanged. The two entities will initially trade in parallel, though a potential merger is under review. Schmidbauer has stressed that any exchange ratio would be based on transparent valuations and would fairly balance the interests of both shareholder groups. No final decision on timing or structure has been announced, with details expected in the coming weeks.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Biogena Group Invest?

Beyond the corporate restructuring, Biogena is laying out ambitious growth plans that extend well into the next decade. The group posted consolidated revenue of roughly €125 million in the 2024/25 financial year, with EBITDA of €19.1 million and EBIT of €8.54 million. Management is targeting around €150 million in sales for the current fiscal year, with a longer-term goal of reaching €500 million by 2030.

The biggest growth driver, according to Schmidbauer, is Germany. Although the company already generates roughly the same revenue there as in its home market of Austria, brand awareness stands at just eight percent in Germany compared with 42 percent in Austria. The company is treating Germany not as an export market but as a second home market. Concrete steps include a planned expansion beyond its existing “Biogena Plaza” on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee, with additional locations eyed at Munich’s Maximiliansplatz and a roughly 800-square-meter anchor tenancy in Frankfurt’s “Four” high-rise complex.

A pivotal move comes in October, when Biogena will enter the pharmacy channel for the first time, launching simultaneously in Austria, Germany and Italy. Until now, the company has not sold through pharmacies despite that being the primary distribution route for dietary supplements. The pharmacy push is seen as a critical lever for closing the awareness gap and accelerating revenue growth.

On the listing front, Biogena Good Vibes plans to apply for admission to the Direct Market Plus segment on 13 August 2026, with trading expected to commence on 27 August 2026 — though there is no binding obligation to list. For now, the market’s attention remains fixed on the merger question and the exchange ratio that will ultimately determine the value of Biogena Group Invest shares in the new structure. The stock’s near-90 percent year-to-date gain suggests investors are betting the answer will be a favourable one.
