Antimony Resources is sitting on some of the best drill intercepts ever recorded at its Bald Hill project in New Brunswick, yet its stock has shed more than 40% in a month. The reason is simple: markets hate uncertainty, and until a certified resource estimate lands, the company remains a story without a foundation.

The half-year numbers through February 2026 lay out the explorer’s financial reality. Revenue was zero. Operating expenses ran to C$10.19 million, producing a net loss of C$10.33 million. Cash on hand totalled C$8.24 million against liabilities of just under C$917,000. Drilling alone absorbed C$1.59 million, part of total exploration spending of C$2.64 million for the period. Management acknowledged the need for regular capital raises, typically through private placements.

The stock’s behaviour on two exchanges underscores the nervousness. On the Canadian Securities Exchange, shares closed at C$0.76 on 28 May, a daily advance of 8.57%. On the same day, the OTC listing in the US slipped to US$0.511, a drop of almost 10% from the previous session. Neither move was triggered by fresh company news. Thin liquidity magnifies every swing.

The drilling itself continues to deliver striking numbers. The most recent assays, reported between 7 and 13 May, included intervals of 26.9% antimony over 15 metres and 6.9% over similar lengths, from hole BH-26-10 in the deeper part of the Main Zone. These are among the strongest sections ever measured on the property. One important caveat: the reported lengths are drilled intervals, not true widths. The company estimates true widths at 65% to 70% of the drilled length depending on hole angle, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?

What the market really wants is a NI 43-101-compliant resource estimate. SRK Consultants of Toronto is working on the first one for Bald Hill. Originally due by the end of April or early May, the report is now described only as coming in the "current month" — no specific date. A prior technical study outlined a conceptual target of roughly 2.7 million tonnes at 3% to 4% antimony, but that is not a certified figure. SRK brings relevant experience: its office recently completed a resource calculation for the former Beaverbrook deposit in Newfoundland, a geologically similar antimony project.

Meanwhile, the exploration campaign presses ahead. Optionor Globex Mining has approved a 19,000-metre programme running until November 2026. Some 13,000 metres will target extension of the Main Zone, with the remaining 6,000 metres testing three newly defined satellite targets: Marcus, BH Central and BH South. The project area now covers 37 square kilometres. A definition drilling phase ended on 28 April after 25,000 metres along the Main Zone, and the data are feeding into a three-dimensional model.

Antimony’s macro backdrop plays into the company’s hands. The price stood at US$51.80 per kilogram on 22 May — down about 22% since the start of 2025 but still up nearly 172% from the start of 2024. China has licensed only 11 companies to export antimony in 2026 and 2027, and has suspended export restrictions against the US only until the end of November 2026. Both the US and the EU classify antimony as a critical mineral for munitions and semiconductors. The gap between short-term supply relief and long-term structural scarcity keeps the geopolitical thesis alive.

Antimony Resources at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

On the permitting front, Antimony Resources is working with GEMTEC Consulting Engineers. A formal mine permit application is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027. Preliminary discussions on off-take agreements have already begun. Samples are being processed by Activation Laboratories in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

The investment case now hinges on three variables: the pending SRK resource estimate, confirmation of true drill widths, and the trajectory of Chinese export policy after November 2026. Until the first of those numbers lands, the stock is caught between geological promise and the cash-burn reality of a pre-revenue explorer.
