Largo Inc. saw its shares jump more than 7% on Friday as investors cheered a dramatic turnaround in vanadium output, with first-quarter production more than doubling year-on-year. The stock climbed to €0.71, extending a recovery that has lifted the equity over 31% from its recent trough.

The company’s Maracás Menchen mine in Brazil delivered 2,616 tonnes of vanadium pentoxide in the first three months of 2026 — a 101.7% surge compared with the same period last year. Management attributed the leap to improved mining processes and more stable operations at the site.

Despite the sharp rebound, the shares remain deep in the red over the longer term. The stock hit a 52-week low of €0.54 on June 29, and even after the rally it trades roughly 67% below the October 2025 high of €2.17. Technical indicators offer little direction: the Relative Strength Index sits at 51.7, squarely in neutral territory. With annualized volatility running at nearly 79%, investors should brace for continued price swings.

Broad market trends are also lending support. Demand for vanadium is strong across the steel and aerospace sectors, while recent US tariff relief on Brazilian products has eased supply constraints for high-purity ferrovanadium. The metal’s critical role in national infrastructure and defense projects further underpins the outlook.

Largo is simultaneously pressing ahead with its energy storage ambitions. Through the Storion Energy joint venture, the company is advancing vanadium redox flow battery technology and building a scalable electrolyte production line to secure supply chains for industrial-scale storage systems. On the corporate side, management is weighing options for its tungsten assets in Canada and Brazil, including a possible sale, joint venture, or spin-off, with an eye to maximizing shareholder value.

Looking ahead, Largo reaffirmed its 2026 production guidance of 10,500 to 12,000 tonnes. The next major catalyst for investors will be the second-quarter financial report, due in August.
