Metallium Names New CFO as Texas Reactor Tests Signal Commercial Progress

The technology is working. The stock, however, is not reflecting it. Metallium finds itself in a familiar tension for industrial startups: operational milestones are piling up, yet the share price remains deep in the red, down roughly 60 percent year-to-date.
On Wednesday, shares traded at €0.2320, a modest 0.94 percent decline from the prior session. That leaves the stock more than 70 percent below its 52-week high of €0.7850 reached in October 2025. The 50-day moving average sits at €0.2844, while the 200-day average is even further away at €0.4258 — both well above current levels. A 14-day relative strength index of 37.2 signals the stock is approaching oversold territory, and the annualized volatility of 76.49 percent underscores the jittery sentiment surrounding the name.
Yet beneath the weak price action, Metallium is making tangible headway at its Gator Point Technology Campus in Texas. In mid-June, the company ran three of its Flash Joule Heating reactors simultaneously for twelve consecutive hours, achieving 83 percent availability. During active phases, the units operated at near-full throughput. The test validates the modular scalability of the FJH platform, a crucial step for a company aiming to move from laboratory-scale demonstrations to industrial-grade processing of several tonnes of material per day.
The FJH technology, originally developed at Rice University, uses ultra-fast electrical pulses to recover critical and precious metals from electronic waste and mineral concentrates. Metallium is betting the process can plug a gap in the US supply chain for strategic materials.

New Financial Leadership on the Way
Alongside the operational progress, Metallium announced a change in its finance leadership. Tim Cooper has been appointed as the new chief financial officer, effective October 1, 2026. Cooper brings more than two decades of experience in corporate and project finance, having held senior roles at Fortescue Metals Group, Strike Energy, and Quadrant Energy.
He replaces Stuart Fraser, who stepped down on June 30. The group financial controller will manage day-to-day finance operations during the transition, under direct board oversight. Management views Cooper's background in capital-intensive projects as a key asset as Metallium builds the financing structures needed to scale its US operations.
Commercial Backing and a Nasdaq Ambition
Metallium has already locked in two cornerstone agreements that underpin its business model. A ten-year offtake contract with Indium Corporation and a multi-year feedstock supply deal with Glencore together cover roughly half of the company's Stage-1 target of 8,000 tonnes per year.
Financially, the company is sitting on a pro-forma cash position of approximately A$104 million following a major capital raise earlier in 2026. That gives it runway to fund the transition from reactor commissioning to sustained production. Management is also planning a Nasdaq listing later this year, a move designed to deepen its presence in US capital markets and broaden its investor base.
What Comes Next
The second half of 2026 will be pivotal. Metallium plans to begin processing commercial feedstocks at Gator Point and expand its processing capacity. The longer-term strategy envisions a nationwide network of modular FJH plants positioned near major e-waste collection hubs and data center corridors across the United States.
Metallium at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Cooper's arrival in October is expected to help build the financing platform for that multi-site expansion. Investors are also awaiting concrete data on recovery rates for gallium and germanium — two metals that are gaining strategic importance for Western supply chains.
For now, the market is watching whether Metallium can convert technical validation into commercial revenue. The stock remains under pressure, but with the RSI flirting with oversold levels and operational milestones accumulating, the ingredients for a potential reversal are there — provided the company can deliver on its next set of promises.
