Pague Menos refines growth strategy, retail stock in Brazil’s pharmacy race

Pague Menos (BRPGMNACNOR3) is building out its position as Brazil’s third-largest pharmacy retailer, with a focus on underserved regions in the North and Northeast and on lower-income consumers. Pague Menos operates a network of several hundred drugstores across Brazil, with a high concentration in the Northeast, and continues to prioritize organic store openings in these regions. Alongside classic pharmacies, management has been rolling out health-service concepts such as in-store clinic spaces and basic diagnostic services. These formats are designed to capture additional traffic, increase basket size, and differentiate the brand from smaller independent pharmacies that dominate many Brazilian municipalities.

Role in Brazil’s listed pharmacy peer group

On the B3 exchange in São Paulo, Pague Menos shares trade in the same retail healthcare segment as Raia Drogasil and smaller listed peer Panvel. Together, these companies compete in a market where thousands of independent pharmacies still hold meaningful regional share and gradually face pressure from larger chains.

In this environment, Pague Menos aims to leverage its geographic focus and brand recognition in the Northeast to defend and expand its regional market share.
