RBC Raises Target for RWE, Highlighting Growth Trajectory

In a move that underscores growing confidence in the utility's strategy, analysts at RBC Capital Markets have increased their price target for RWE. The new target was set at €62.50, a significant uplift from the previous €58.00, reinforcing a positive outlook for the company's shares. RBC maintained its "Outperform" rating on the stock.
The revision follows quarterly results that surpassed market expectations and was also driven by upgraded dividend projections. According to the analysis, the average dividend per share is now anticipated to reach €1.29 for 2026, up from €1.20 previously. Earnings per share are forecast at €2.59. Analyst Alexander Wheeler pointed to RWE's advantageous positioning to capitalize on the energy transition, citing its expansion in renewables, strategic gas-fired power capacity, and focus on key technological areas as central to this thesis.
Outpacing the Consensus and Recent Performance
RBC's €62.50 target stands notably above the current analyst consensus of €58.38. Based on the recent closing price of €56.82, this new objective implies a potential upside of approximately ten percent for the stock.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Rwe?
The share price performance over the last year has been robust, showing a gain of about 73 percent. This strength is operationally supported by a significant turnaround in fourth-quarter 2025 earnings per share, which moved from a slight loss to a profit of €1.15.
Valuation and Strategic Focus
While the company experienced a year-on-year decline in revenue, investor attention appears firmly fixed on its enhanced profitability and clearly defined growth roadmap. With these prospects, the price-to-earnings ratio of roughly 13.6 is viewed as reasonable. Although the average analyst price target suggests room for growth, RBC's latest research presents one of the most optimistic assessments in the current market environment.
