ServiceNow rebounds with 6.5% weekly gain, boosted by a $1.5B AI target hike and alliances with Wipro, Experian, and Boomi, solidifying its role as an enterprise AI governance layer.

ServiceNow’s stock staged a robust comeback last week, closing at $108.73 on Thursday – a 6.5% gain for the holiday-shortened period and a near-19% advance from the start of May. The rebound follows a series of strategic moves that underscore the company’s transformation from a workflow automation specialist into a central governance layer for enterprise artificial intelligence. A freshly raised internal target for its flagship AI product, Now Assist, alongside deepened partnerships with Wipro, Experian, and Boomi, have given investors concrete evidence that the strategy is gaining traction.

The foundation for the optimism was laid in April’s earnings report. Subscription revenue hit $3.671 billion in the first quarter, up 22% year over year, while current remaining performance obligations (cRPO) climbed 22.5% to $12.64 billion. More telling, the number of customers with an annual contract value exceeding $1 million for Now Assist surged more than 130%. Management subsequently boosted its internal new-business target for the product from $1 billion to $1.5 billion, a 50% increase that signals mounting confidence in its market adoption. The company also posted a non-GAAP operating margin of 32% and a free-cash-flow margin of 44%, with net income representing 12.6% of revenue.

The latest validation arrived on Thursday via a deepened alliance with Indian IT services heavyweight Wipro. Wipro will integrate ServiceNow’s AI agent technology into enterprise systems spanning IT, human resources, and cybersecurity, combining it with its own Wipro Intelligence platform to orchestrate workflows with transparency and control. The market reaction was swift: Wipro’s American depositary receipt soared nearly 19% in New York, while its Mumbai-listed shares gained up to 4%. For ServiceNow shareholders, the deal reinforces the narrative that agentic AI is evolving into an infrastructural layer rather than a standalone tool.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying ServiceNow?

ServiceNow simultaneously strengthened ties with data and integration partners. A collaboration with Experian brings the credit bureau’s Ascend decisioning platform into the ServiceNow ecosystem, enabling automated workflows for sensitive financial and identity processes powered by high-integrity data. Separately, Boomi joined the Workflow Data Network Passport Program as a launch partner, improving real-time data access across the company’s Workflow Data Fabric. These moves address what the industry considers the biggest bottleneck for autonomous AI agents: access to distributed enterprise data.

Chief financial officer Gina Mastantuono fleshed out the broader vision at the Jefferies conference on May 27, positioning ServiceNow as the governance layer for the agentic AI era. The newly introduced Model Context Protocol (MCP) server allows external AI agents – from Microsoft Copilot to Anthropic Claude – to perform controlled actions within the ServiceNow ecosystem. Management’s message is clear: the company benefits regardless of which large language model its customers choose. Alongside earlier acquisitions such as Armis and Veza, ServiceNow is assembling an “AI Control Tower” package designed to monitor and secure autonomous agents.

Despite the recent rally, the stock remains 48% below its 52-week high of $211.48. It has cleared the 50-day moving average near $98 but faces a stiff test at the 200-day line around $142, roughly 23% above current levels. Analysts at Trefis have identified a support zone between $103 and $114, a range that contained Thursday’s close. With a price-to-earnings multiple of about 59, the valuation is rich but underpinned by rapid growth. The coming weeks will test whether ServiceNow can sustain this momentum – and whether its expanding web of alliances can turn agentic AI from a promise into a consistent demand driver.
