SunHydrogen has initiated a pivotal real-world evaluation of its solar-powered hydrogen generation system. The company has commenced operation of its first outdoor pilot reactor, moving the technology from controlled laboratory conditions into an open-air environment at the University of Texas at Austin. This six-month demonstration represents a fundamental test of whether the system can perform effectively under genuine weather conditions.
The pilot installation, located at the Hydrogen ProtoHub on the university’s J. J. Pickle Research Campus, comprises a multi-panel array of 16 individual solar-hydrogen reactors. Covering a total surface area exceeding 30 square meters, this configuration will exclusively utilize sunlight and water to produce green hydrogen throughout the testing period. The site selection provides both advanced infrastructure and visibility alongside other... Read more...
