Vincorion’s Eurosatory Showcase and Record Orders Clash With a Battered Share Price Under Lock-Up Cloud

Despite a 40% revenue jump and €149M order intake, Vincorion stock trades 32% below highs due to a 47.5% PE stake lock-up expiring in 2026 and negative free cash flow.

The Paris defense trade fair Eurosatory has become an ironic stage for Vincorion. The company is unveiling its latest battlefield power systems — including a 50-kilowatt generator module and a matching energy storage unit developed under the €40 million EU-funded SENTINEL project — while its own stock continues to bleed value. Four days of networking with international customers, a 42-member consortium from 16 countries, and tests already underway at the Bundeswehr University in Munich should be causing excitement. Instead, the shares are trading around €16.20, well below the €17.00 IPO price and roughly 32% off their 52-week high.

The disconnection between operational strength and market sentiment is stark. In the first quarter of 2026, revenue jumped 40% to €69.0 million, powered by Europe’s rearmament drive in vehicle systems and power generation. Adjusted EBIT climbed 30% to approximately €12.4 million. Even more impressive: order intake nearly quadrupled to €149.4 million. Vincorion enjoys an unusually strong market position — it is the sole supplier for roughly 85% of its products, and the high-margin maintenance business contributes 55% of total revenue. That predictable annuity stream gives the earnings base unusual stability for a defense contractor.

So why is the stock so weak? The answer sits in the shareholder register. British private-equity firm STAR Capital still holds 47.5% of Vincorion’s shares, subject to a lock-up agreement that runs until autumn 2026. With free float relatively tight, market participants are bracing for a block sale once the restriction lifts. That overhang has kept a lid on any recovery rally, even as the broader defense sector enjoys a bid. The technical picture confirms the bearish mood: the relative strength index stands at 32.3, signaling oversold conditions, and the stock has lost 12.3% in recent weeks alone.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Vincorion?

A second worry is free cash flow, which swung to minus €7.1 million in the first quarter from a positive €1.6 million a year earlier. Management blames seasonal working capital and tax catch-up payments, and insists the dip is not structural. The full-year target for operating cash flow is around €38 million, which the company intends to use to finance capacity expansion at its German sites without resorting to debt or a capital increase. The absence of dilution risk helps, but investors will need to see proof that cash generation is on track.

Several catalysts lie ahead. On June 22, Vincorion joins the SDAX index, forcing passive ETFs to buy the stock and likely improving liquidity. That mechanical inflow could provide a temporary lift. The next hard test arrives on August 12, when half-year results are due. If free cash flow turns positive and the margin holds near the guided 19%, the lock-up fear may begin to lose its grip. Analysts remain optimistic: three sell-side firms have an average price target of €25.00, with the high estimate at €26.00.

For now, management is sticking with its full-year revenue guidance of €280 million to €320 million and an adjusted EBIT margin of 18% to 19%. Medium-term growth above 15% is penciled in. But the stock’s path hinges on one number more than any other: the cash flow figure in August. A positive print would provide the proof of self-funded growth that the market currently doubts — and might finally give Vincorion’s operating story the share price it deserves.
