2G Energy Splits Finance and Investor Duties as New CFO Targets Scale
Published on 11/03/2026 at 13:51 | Editorial boerse-global.de2G Energy has separated the leadership of its finance function from day-to-day investor relations, naming Martin Laux as chief financial officer effective Sunday while keeping outgoing finance chief Friedrich Pehle on board to handle investor communications. The shares rose 1.9% on the news.
Laux joins from Deutz's Engines division, where he served as finance chief of a unit with roughly EUR 1.5 billion in business volume — a scale the company considers relevant to its ambitions. 2G Energy said the succession was prepared over the longer term, and the move is intended to put organizational and capital-market groundwork in place for revenue above EUR 1 billion. That figure describes a strategic ambition, not a fresh sales forecast with a fixed timeline, so the immediate read for investors is the new division of responsibilities rather than a higher business expectation.
A Four-Member Board Through Year-End
Pehle, who has held the CFO post for nine years, will leave the executive board on January 1, 2027 — earlier than his original appointment, which ran to December 31, 2027. According to the company, he asked for the early end to his mandate for personal reasons. Until the end of the year the board will temporarily have four members, overlapping the tenures of the incoming and outgoing finance chiefs and creating a handover period rather than an abrupt transfer.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying 2G Energy?
From Sunday, Pehle is focused solely on investor relations and will report to Laux in that role, so his board departure does not amount to a full exit from the company. The structure keeps capital-market communication assigned to the finance chief while placing personnel continuity in front of investors.
Board-Linked Buying Disclosed
Separately, 2G Energy reported a share purchase from the supervisory board's orbit about two weeks ago. The buyer was SHH Spring Hunter Holdings GmbH, which is closely connected to supervisory board member Dr. Lukas Lenz. The purchases were disclosed in three directors' dealings notifications.
First Berlin Reiterates Buy
First Berlin Equity Research reaffirmed its buy rating on October 26 and left its price target at EUR 83.00. The note was a research update; neither the rating nor the target was changed.
The next scheduled financial date is November 23, 2026, when 2G Energy plans to publish revenue and EBIT for the third quarter of 2026 — covering both top-line development and operating profit. The German Equity Forum also opens that day and runs from November 23 to 25, 2026.
