Airbus has widened its footprint in aviation training on two fronts, unveiling new digital courseware through its Skywise platform while signing an agreement to groom would-be airline pilots in India.

The Skywise expansion, announced Monday, folds three products into the portfolio: the MATe Suite, the Virtual Procedure Trainer and Flight eLearning. Under the Blue Angels Air deal inked Thursday, ab-initio pilots will be trained through the Airbus Flight Academy network.

Analysts, though, took a more guarded view of the stock. UBS cut its price target to EUR 230 from EUR 240, according to media reports, while reaffirming its buy rating on the shares.

October Deliveries Put Annual Goal in Focus

On the operational side, Airbus handed over 74 aircraft to 45 customers in October, Reuters reported. That lifted shipments for January through October to 621 jets, a 6.2% increase on the same period a year earlier.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Airbus?

Reaching the full-year target of roughly 870 aircraft will require 249 more handovers across November and December.

Bookings told a similar story of steady demand. Gross orders came to 202 in October, bringing the year-to-date gross tally to 1,376 aircraft. After 71 cancellations, net orders stood at 1,305 planes.

Beyond Commercial Jets: Galileo and Aliaca

The planemaker also logged progress outside its airliner business. The European Space Agency, acting for the EU Agency for the Space Programme, awarded Airbus a contract on 26 October to build two more second-generation Galileo satellites.

Airbus at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

At Airbus Helicopters, France's DGA procurement agency on Tuesday qualified the vertical take-off and landing version of the U010 Aliaca. That clears the way for deployment under the SMDM contract, with the first two systems delivered to the French Navy in September. Of the 34 systems ordered, eight are to be supplied in the VTOL configuration.
