Allianz is heading into a packed stretch of investor meetings with a pair of fresh strategic announcements in hand, betting that autonomous mobility and European growth technology can add new revenue streams on top of its core insurance business.
The Munich-based group confirmed on Wednesday that Allianz Partners will team up with Waymo, the driverless-technology developer, in a strategic cooperation covering the European market. The tie-up spans insurance solutions for autonomous vehicles, claims handling and joint safety research, with Allianz Partners set to insure Waymo's European robotaxi fleet and manage any damage claims that arise.
A day later, Allianz Lebensversicherung, Allianz Private Krankenversicherung and Allianz France disclosed their participation in the "Scaleup Europe Fund," an initiative run in conjunction with the European Commission. The vehicle is designed to channel capital into European growth companies, with artificial intelligence, quantum technology and semiconductors as its focal sectors.
Buyback Continues to Return Capital
Running alongside these expansion moves, the insurer is pressing on with its shareholder-return program. Under the buyback announced in March, Allianz SE repurchased 303,283 of its own shares between September 7 and September 11, lifting the cumulative total bought back to 5,942,686 shares.

Separately, the Financial Times reported that Allianz and Zurich Insurance Group had underwritten transactions for Radiant World, the troubled iron ore trader. Reuters also carried coverage of the insurance deals linked to the distressed merchant.
Management Takes the Story on the Road
Beginning at the start of next week, Allianz executives will make a series of appearances before institutional investors in Munich, London and Madrid. The schedule opens Monday with the Berenberg and Goldman Sachs German Corporate Conference in Munich, followed Tuesday by the Baader Investment Conference at the same location. The international leg then continues with the Bank of America Financial CEO Conference in London on September 24 and the BNP Paribas Madrid IR Day on September 29.
UBS Lifts Target as Shares Sit Below Their Peak
On the analyst front, UBS responded to the company's business trajectory on September 9, according to media reports, raising its price target on the insurance stock to EUR 450 from EUR 430 while keeping a "Neutral" rating.
