Almonty's Sangdong Processing Plant Wins Final Certification as Tungsten Group Broadens Global Reach

Almonty Industries has cleared the last regulatory obstacle standing between its flagship South Korean project and full-scale commercial output. Final inspection certificates for the Sangdong processing plant and its crushing equipment are now in hand, according to the company — a sign-off that formally authorizes commercial operation and paves the way for regular sales of tungsten concentrate.
The approval, granted last Thursday, marks the close of a lengthy development chapter for a site the company treats as its core asset. Market participants view the certification as the precondition for shifting Sangdong into routine production and for delivering larger volumes of the strategically important industrial metal to global buyers.
A Three-Pronged Push Across Continents
News of the Korean milestone arrived alongside a pair of moves that extend Almonty's footprint well beyond East Asia. In Southern Europe, the group has locked in revenue from material already on hand through a multi-year take-or-pay arrangement with Wolfram Bergbau und Hütten AG, a subsidiary of the Sandvik Group. That contract covers a minimum of roughly 1,720 tonnes of contained WO?, to be recovered by reprocessing existing tailings stockpiles, and includes a conditional advance payment of USD 3.0 million tied to the offtake rights.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Almonty?
The company is simultaneously deepening its presence in Africa. Under a binding partnership with the Rwandan government, Almonty Rwanda Pty Ltd will be 25% state-owned, with the remaining 75% staying with Almonty. In return, the joint venture has secured the Shyorongi exploration concession together with a mineral processing licence. A companion agreement lets the Rwandan entity purchase and export tungsten ore, pre-concentrates and tailings from licensed small-scale local miners — a channel designed to feed additional material into the group's processing capacity, including mobile treatment units stationed near the stockpiles.
Shares Rebound After a Soft Stretch
The operational confirmation has reinvigorated the stock following a weaker phase. Almonty shares changed hands at EUR 12.85 on Tuesday, up 0.8%, extending their advance since the start of the year to 62%. The prior session had delivered a sharper jolt: the paper climbed 5.9% on Monday to close at EUR 12.75 as word of the certification circulated.
Attention now turns to how quickly feed rates can be scaled up in South Korea. Sangdong serves as the group's central project, and its ramp-up will be the yardstick by which investors judge how efficiently commercial concentrate processing performs at industrial scale.
