Deutsche Telekom has found a live customer reference for its enterprise AI push. T-Systems announced an agreement with Banco Sabadell under which the Spanish lender will deploy the T-AI Agentic Hub across service operations serving its roughly 7 million customers. The platform is designed to automate workflows and sharpen customer care — giving investors a tangible deployment of the group's AI offering rather than a technical promise.

The distinction matters. The efficiency gains are targets of the planned rollout, not results already booked. What the deal does provide is proof that the agentic AI product is being adopted by a named client in day-to-day business processes.

Fiber and mobile expansion set the infrastructure backdrop

Alongside the software side, the group's physical network kept growing. In September, Deutsche Telekom brought 72 new mobile sites into service and lifted capacity at 503 existing locations — two separate levers, since new sites widen coverage while added capacity strengthens the sites already on air. Counting new masts alone therefore understates the work done on the mobile network.

The fixed-line footprint advanced too. A day earlier, the company reported 255,000 additional fiber connections built in September, bringing the total able to access Telekom fiber to 14.4 million households and businesses. That figure describes reach — the offer on the table — not yet a contribution to revenue or profit.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Deutsche Telekom?

Lab results and a satellite intent

Technical trials are running in parallel with the build-out. Together with Nokia and NVIDIA, Deutsche Telekom reported on October 21 on joint laboratory measurements of AI-based channel estimation in the uplink, yielding a typical throughput gain of 10 to 15 percent. A field test is the planned next step, so the result remains a lab figure awaiting validation outside that environment.

A separate track involves Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone. On October 19 the four operators signed a letter of intent to examine a joint bid for frequencies for mobile satellite services in Europe, with a satellite partner still to be selected. It is a stated intent to explore, not a bid already on the table.

Barclays trims its target

Valuation questions linger over the stock. According to media reports, Barclays cut its price target for Deutsche Telekom to EUR 32 from EUR 35 on October 20, while keeping its Overweight rating.

Deutsche Telekom at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

The next hard checkpoint for the financial picture is the third-quarter 2026 report, scheduled for November 5, 2026. T-Mobile US, the group's American subsidiary, is also on the announced calendar with results due today. For shareholders, the infrastructure and partnership announcements document operational progress; earnings and guidance will have to carry the case on profitability.
