Deutz Voting Blocs Surface as Analysts Trim Targets and Defence Bet Takes Shape
Published on 11/08/2026 at 14:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deTwo separate voting-rights notifications landed at Deutz on Friday, each attributing 29.90% of the engine maker's shares to a distinct group of holders as of Thursday. The filings, published as mandatory disclosures, tie the first block to Norbert Erichsen, whose attribution rests on a voting agreement alongside holdings channelled through FFG Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. The second covers Gorm Iver Gondesen, Maren Gondesen, Gorm-Eilif Gondesen and Lisa-Marie Gondesen, with Universum Holding GmbH and a separate voting agreement named in the notice.
The disclosures follow Deutz's announcement on Thursday of a new total of roughly 240 million voting rights, linked to a capital measure that took effect on Wednesday.
Weak Tape, Lower Targets
Deutz shares shed 2.0% on Friday as a worldwide selloff in AI and semiconductor stocks weighed on the German market, with the DAX down by close to two percent at one point. dpa-AFX attributed the pullback to a cooling-off after the stock's earlier order-driven surge, and no single company-specific trigger emerged from the reports.
Brokers spent the day marking down their yardsticks. MPCM cut its price target to EUR 18 from EUR 19 while keeping a Buy rating, pointing among other things to how peers are valued. Berenberg reaffirmed its Buy call with a EUR 16.50 target; analyst Lasse Stueben called the quarterly figures mixed but said the early completion of the FFG takeover pushes them into the background. DZ Bank, per dpa-AFX, lowered its fair value to EUR 15 from EUR 16 on Thursday, also sticking with a Buy recommendation.

A Mixed Quarter Beneath the Headlines
The numbers published on Thursday told two stories. Net profit for the third quarter of 2026 fell to EUR 6.9 million from EUR 12.3 million a year earlier. Across the first nine months, however, revenue climbed about 11% to EUR 1.67 billion, order intake grew by more than 30%, and the adjusted EBIT margin improved to 7.1% from 5.8%. Adjusted EBIT for the period reached EUR 118.2 million.
For the full year, Deutz still expects revenue of EUR 2.3 billion to EUR 2.5 billion. Since Thursday it has guided toward the upper end of its 6.5% to 8.0% range for the adjusted EBIT margin.
Defence Ambitions in Focus
The completed FFG acquisition, confirmed on Thursday, underpins the company's defence strategy. Deutz expects the acquired business to add more than EUR 1 billion in revenue in the defence segment in 2027, at an adjusted EBITDA margin above 20%.
