Eurojuris International Congress 2026 Set for Porto as Network Expands Cross-Border Programme

Legal professionals from across Europe are preparing to gather in Porto this October as Eurojuris International hosts its 2026 congress, a key date for the continent's cross-border legal community. The event, running from October 8 to 11, offers member firms a platform to discuss international standards and strengthen professional ties — a priority for practices navigating increasingly complex cross-border work.
Registration is now open through the organisation's dedicated meeting portal, with the Porto summit capping a year of regional gatherings and specialist sessions designed to keep the network's 200-plus member firms engaged.

Before the main congress, the network has lined up several targeted events. A colloquium for members from the Netherlands and Belgium takes place in Amersfoort on September 18, followed by the LawNet Annual Conference on November 5 and 6.

Stefan Daubner, President of Eurojuris International, will lead the session, which aims to help practitioners navigate the patchwork of national and international regulations governing complex cross-border insolvency cases.

The network has seen notable leadership activity this year. In January, Benjamin English was elected President of Eurojuris France during a meeting in Cannes. English, Co-Managing Partner at Avril & Marion since 2008, has prioritised internal communication, nurturing new talent and strengthening the wider community.
The JUMP exchange programme continues to drive professional development. This summer, Tara Schau of Hamburg-based firm Tyskret Sagawe & Klages completed two-week placements at firms in Odense, Denmark, and Drammen, Norway. Participants on both sides have praised the simplicity of the process and the value of intercultural networking for modern legal practice.

Coordinating large-scale international gatherings demands careful logistical planning, a recurring theme for network organisers. Reflecting on past events, including the Vienna congress, organisers Michael Proksch and Diane Tries noted that securing venues with sufficient conference facilities remains a significant hurdle.
Hans Jonkhout added that scheduling is often complicated by the need to avoid clashes with public holidays and major sporting events.
