Early August Blazes Hit English Farms

The first days of August 2026 saw several agricultural fires disrupt operations across England. On August 2, a crop fire broke out in Soudley, near Market Drayton, during harvesting activities. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that approximately 30 square metres of crops were destroyed. Local farmers used agricultural machinery to create fire breaks and deployed a water bowser to help firefighters contain the accidental blaze.
