Hensoldt Lifts Guidance as Order Intake Jumps 76.7%, but Defence-Wide Weakness Caps the Stock
Published on 11/08/2026 at 18:02 | Editorial boerse-global.deHensoldt's first nine months of 2026 delivered the kind of growth defence investors have grown accustomed to — and it still wasn't enough to keep the share price in positive territory. The German sensor and electronics group now expects full-year revenue of around EUR 2.8 billion, having sharpened a forecast that previously pointed to the same figure, while lifting its adjusted EBITDA margin target to roughly 19.0% from a prior range of 18.5% to 19.0%.
The stock finished Friday down 3.8% at EUR 77.78, a decline that had little to do with the numbers themselves. A profit warning from Rheinmetall rippled across the entire defence sector, with dpa-AFX reporting that Hensoldt slipped in the wake of interim gains on Thursday as the sector read-across took hold. A broader sell-off in AI and semiconductor names added to the pressure on German equities that session, according to the news agency.
Orders and Earnings Both Advance
The nine-month figures, published Thursday, showed order intake climbing 76.7% to EUR 3.56 billion. Revenue rose 21.3% to EUR 1.86 billion, and adjusted EBITDA grew 33.0% to EUR 281 million. The order backlog stood at EUR 10.4 billion.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Hensoldt?
Analysts were split on what to make of it. Jefferies reiterated its buy rating with an unchanged EUR 98 price target on Thursday, judging that both revenue and adjusted EBIT had beaten consensus estimates, as dpa-AFX reported. Deutsche Bank Research followed on Friday by confirming its buy recommendation and keeping its target at EUR 105. JPMorgan, by contrast, maintained a neutral stance and a EUR 100.0 target, leaving both its rating and its price objective untouched.
Eyes on London
The next scheduled item on Hensoldt's calendar is a capital markets day in London on 10 November 2026, an event the company has confirmed in its financial calendar.
