Infineon's AI Power Line-Up Takes Shape as Two Brokers Map a 40 EUR Gap
Published on 10/21/2026 at 22:10 | Editorial boerse-global.deInfineon has widened its power-supply alliance with NVIDIA, adding gallium-nitride high-voltage DC-link converters built for 800-volt direct-current architectures in AI data centres. The move, disclosed today, fleshes out a technical partnership that had until now been sketched only in outline. For investors, the significance lies less in any single component than in how the various pieces of the power-conversion puzzle fit together.
The NVIDIA tie-up sits alongside a cluster of other product launches aimed at AI servers. Roughly a week ago, Infineon unveiled the XDP8HD40S-1 high-voltage hot-swap controller for AI server architectures, with samples slated for the second quarter of 2027 — a firm future milestone that should not be confused with an already-completed rollout. Around the same time came a 27-kW three-phase power-supply unit for AI server power architectures. Each announcement covers a different component at a different stage of development, and none should be read as a single, finished deployment.
Microcontrollers Ship While the Balance Sheet Waits
Operationally, the Munich-based chipmaker also expanded its PSOC-Control-C3 family on Monday, adding the PSC3M/P6 microcontrollers for motor-control and power-conversion applications. According to the company, the parts support up to four brushless DC motors and are available now — a distinction that matters. Infineon is not merely flagging these chips; it says they can be ordered. Quantifying any financial contribution from them would be a separate claim altogether.
That product push feeds into the company's planned trade-show presence. Infineon announced on 14 October that it will exhibit at electronica in Munich from 10 to 13 November, showcasing solutions for AI infrastructure, robotics and mobility. The event will put the technology roadmap on display; the quarterly report offers a different lens, turning the spotlight on the commercial side.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Infineon?
Two Buy Calls, Two Very Different Fair Values
Sentiment among the analyst community is harder to pin down. Aletheia Capital Limited raised its price target to 100 EUR from 90 EUR on Monday, according to media reports, while reaffirming its buy rating. TD Cowen moved the other way, cutting its target to 60 EUR from 72 EUR — and it, too, kept its buy recommendation.
The shared "buy" label therefore masks a 40 EUR spread in fair-value estimates and should not be mistaken for a consensus view of the company's prospects. Investors would do well to weigh each recommendation against its own target rather than treating the two as a single signal. Neither the targets nor the ratings imply a common assumption about the upcoming earnings release.
Supply Chain Shifts Beneath the Headlines
Parallel to its product work, Infineon is reworking its materials sourcing. On 15 October the company signed a multi-year supply agreement with Wolfspeed for silicon-carbide wafers, shifting existing deliveries from 150-mm to 200-mm substrates. That deal concerns a different material from the GaN technology at the heart of the NVIDIA collaboration, so the two announcements do not represent the same project. Taken together, though, they show Infineon working both on concrete applications and on the underlying supply base that feeds them.
Infineon at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
The next hard data point arrives on 10 November, when Infineon publishes results for the fourth quarter and for fiscal 2026. That date will matter more for judging the diverging price targets than the shared buy tag: fresh business figures will land right next to the analysts' competing expectations. The technology story, meanwhile, gets its own stage in Munich just days later, where AI power-supply infrastructure, physical AI, robotics, mobility and edge devices top the agenda — with today's NVIDIA news giving the power-supply theme a concrete anchor.
