Nebius is turning up the heat on its GPU pricing, and the timing says as much about the AI infrastructure market as it does about the company itself. Starting October 1, the cloud specialist will raise rates across its on-demand GPU compute offerings by an average of roughly 20% — its second round of increases in just a few months.

The details reveal a company comfortable with its leverage. Older Nvidia hardware such as the H100 moves from $3.85 to $4.50 per hour, a 16.9% bump. The flagship B300 climbs from $7.85 to $9.50, up 21%. Processors including AMD's EPYC Genoa rise 25% to $0.015 per vCPU-hour, while memory tariffs jump about 41%. For the B300 architecture, the cumulative increase since before May now stands at 56%.

Anyone who expected the steady rollout of new chip generations to push compute costs lower has been proven wrong. As long as customers keep paying up, Nebius has a clear runway to expand operating profitability.

Demand Stretches Into 2028

The order book makes the case against the skeptics. Demand visibility extends beyond 24 months, with binding orders and reservations already reaching into the first and second quarters of 2028. Clients are locking in capacity years ahead even as Nebius visibly raises its terms — a luxury that rivals such as CoreWeave, busy preparing extensive capital measures to fund their own buildouts, do not enjoy in the same way.

Recent capacity auctions underscored the point: Nebius secured prices 15% above what had previously been calculated as the ceiling for modern Blackwell architectures.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nebius?

The financials back up the narrative. Second-quarter AI cloud revenue surged 514% year over year to $574.9 million, accompanied by adjusted EBITDA of $236.2 million. Group revenue for the same period climbed 454% to $582 million, with the dedicated AI business contributing the lion's share. Annualized revenue run rate (ARR) reached $3 billion. The new tariffs should lend additional support to profitability from the closing quarter onward.

The Funding Equation Behind the Buildout

Scaling at this pace demands enormous capital. Nebius has penciled in 2026 capex of $20 billion to $25 billion, a sum the business model can only carry with substantial upfront payments from large customers. Management expects more than $9 billion in customer prepayments for full-year 2026, covering 50% to 60% of planned investments directly. That coverage ratio is the central test for investors: any shortfall or delay in customer projects throws the balance off, while a steady inflow of client funds reduces the need for further external capital measures.

Fresh liquidity has already arrived. On August 24, Nebius closed a private placement of convertible bonds with gross proceeds of roughly $5.75 billion. On September 9, Truist Securities initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $355 price target.

By the end of 2026, the company aims for 5 gigawatts of contractually secured power capacity. Executing on that goal — and converting the Palantir partnership, announced just over a week ago when the company was named preferred partner for sovereign AI infrastructure, into actual utilization — is where the upside lies.

A Stock Finding Its Footing

The market's reaction has been volatile. Nebius shares jumped 9.0% to €199.00 today, riding a broad recovery across neocloud and AI infrastructure names, with peers like CoreWeave and IREN also gaining in pre-market US trading. The rebound follows a sharp pullback at the start of the week. Despite the Palantir nod, the stock had shed 5.1% since that announcement as traders took profits after the prior rally.

Even with today's advance, the picture remains mixed. The shares are up 153% year to date, yet they sit 29% below their 52-week high of €261.00 — a reminder that valuation now leaves little room for operational missteps.

Nebius at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Risks on the Other Side of the Ledger

The bull case has a counterpart. Data center expansion is exposed to unpredictable factors, particularly grid connections and the timely supply of power. Delays in opening new sites could leave expensive hardware sitting idle rather than generating revenue. Financing via convertible bonds carries meaningful dilution risk for existing shareholders should conversions occur, and the sheer scale of investment narrows financial flexibility.

Should hyperscalers or major customers unexpectedly trim their AI infrastructure budgets, providers like Nebius would feel it immediately. Overcapacity could emerge and weigh on achievable prices, while competition among neocloud providers is intensifying — pressure that could erode margins over the medium term.

What to Watch Next

The near-term direction hinges on how the stock handles key technical resistance levels and whether the recovery in AI infrastructure holds. If sentiment in the tech sector sours again, or doubts surface about the pace of execution toward the 5-gigawatt target, a slide back below recent interim lows is possible.

The next concrete checkpoint arrives on October 22, 2026, when Nebius reports third-quarter results and must demonstrate that its growth tempo and cash inflows still justify the lofty expectations. Until then, the combination of genuine pricing power, a backlog stretching to 2028, and a financing structure dependent on customer prepayments will keep both bulls and bears watching closely.
