Deutsche Bank Research lifted its price target on Novo Nordisk to DKK 240 from DKK 225 on Thursday, yet analyst Emmanuel Papadakis kept his "Sell" rating firmly in place, according to media reports. The move captures a broader pattern across the Street this week: targets are climbing, but conviction is not.

BMO Capital's Evan Seigerman raised his target on the Novo Nordisk ADR to $44.00 from $40.00 on the same day, reiterating a "Market Perform" stance. He pointed to a strong quarter and Wegovy pill sales that came in above consensus estimates. Whether that momentum can be sustained through 2027, in his view, remains an open question. Seigerman flagged continued growth of the pill, international business development and a successful launch of CagriSema as the key swing factors for that year.

Three other research houses adjusted their targets on Thursday as well — two upward, one downward — all while keeping neutral ratings. Their revised marks now sit between DKK 298 and DKK 312. Bernstein Research, for its part, moved its target to DKK 223 from DKK 203 on Friday but held to an "Underperform" rating, pairing the higher number with a cautious view of the equity.

The wave of revisions followed Novo Nordisk's Wednesday guidance raise, which Reuters linked to better-than-expected sales of the Wegovy pill. The company also pointed to pressure from lower realized prices — including the US MFN agreement — and from expiring semaglutide patents in certain markets.

Buybacks and a Growing Asian Footprint

Alongside the outlook, Novo Nordisk disclosed on Wednesday that it had repurchased B-shares worth roughly DKK 11.6 billion under its ongoing program through November 2. The twelve-month scheme authorizes up to DKK 15 billion in buybacks.

On the commercial front, Novo Nordisk and Abbott announced on Thursday an expanded collaboration across Asia-Pacific, aimed at broadening access to original semaglutide for people with type 2 diabetes through the introduction of Plosbrio. Not every partnership is moving forward, however: Novo Nordisk notified Korro Bio on Tuesday that it is terminating their research collaboration and license agreement. A subsequent regulatory disclosure from Korro indicated the termination takes effect on February 1, 2027.

Liver Data and a Packed Conference Calendar

Friday brought results from retrospective observational studies of semaglutide in MASH. One investigation showed a mean weight loss of 18.9 lb after six months of treatment, compared with 5.6 lb under resmetirom. Novo Nordisk stressed that such observational data demonstrate associations rather than causality.

Novo Nordisk at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Looking ahead, the company plans to present data from 26 abstracts at ObesityWeek in Washington, D.C., scheduled for November 14–17, 2026. Among the highlights will be CagriSema analyses, real-world Wegovy data and results from the STEP-Young trial.
