Partners Group Reels In $510 Million From Insurers While Buyout Desk Reshuffles and SICAV Fee Cuts Head to a Vote
Published on 10/25/2026 at 11:02 | Editorial boerse-global.dePartners Group has closed its second rated feeder for the 2026 Private Credit Evergreen strategy, pulling in USD 510 million from US insurance companies last week. Combined with the capital raised in January, the rated-feeder channel has now brought in USD 875 million. The vehicle's take is a concrete endorsement of demand from a specific investor base — but it says nothing about revenue or profit, and it cannot be read as a proxy for the rest of the business.
That distinction matters because the Swiss firm is moving on several fronts at once, and the threads are easy to conflate. Capital raised and fee income are separate quantities; a successful fundraising does not answer the question of what a planned fee change will do to earnings.
Fee Relief on the Table at Global Value SICAV
At the Global Value SICAV, Partners Group is cutting management fees ahead of a planned restructuring, according to media reports last week. Investors in the distributing share class stand to see fees fall by at least 25 basis points for three years. For the accumulating class, a reduction of up to 75 basis points is envisaged through 1 January 2030.
Shareholders still have to sign off. The vote is scheduled for the week starting 9 November — the next hard decision point on the calendar. Until then, the picture is split cleanly in two: the credit fundraising is done, the restructuring is not.

Buyout Team Redrawn, Not Simply Cut
Roughly a week before those fee reports surfaced, Bloomberg detailed changes inside the firm's global private equity team, reporting that dozens of positions had been eliminated or shifted into other units, including infrastructure and royalties. Partners Group told Bloomberg that the team's size remains within its long-standing average. The nuance is worth keeping: the report describes a reallocation of staff as much as a headcount reduction, and the company's own comment anchors the changes to the team's historical scale.
Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, linked the reshuffle to weaker results from older portfolios and pressure to lift performance. Redemption requests on evergreen products were cited as an additional strain, meaning the adjustment pressure runs through both the development of existing holdings and the retention of investor capital.
Why Exits Matter More Than Headlines
ZKB analyst Daniel Regli laid out the mechanics on Thursday. The difficult private-markets environment since the 2022 rate shift has made divestments harder, he said, weighing on performance fees and on new client commitments. His interview contained no new rating action or price target.
The chain reaction is what investors should focus on. Slower exits do not just delay the realization of gains on holdings — they also crimp fees and sap clients' willingness to commit fresh capital, according to Regli's assessment.
Against that, Partners Group launched a global multi-sector private credit income strategy about two weeks ago, giving institutional investors and wealthy private clients access through an open-ended evergreen vehicle. The target is high-single-digit to low-double-digit percentage returns — an investment objective, not a track record. The offering broadens the credit lineup, but it addresses a different question than the one hanging over older buyout portfolios: a product launch on its own proves neither better exit conditions nor a recovery in performance fees.

Insiders Put Money to Work
One further signal came from the top. Media reports on 14 October said management members bought shares privately in October for around CHF 21 million. The same report flagged complex financial instruments in the disclosed transactions.
Those purchases sit opposite the operating pressures without dispelling them. For anyone sizing up Partners Group, the yardsticks remain the trajectory of the investment portfolios, the pace of divestments and fresh client commitments. The reported staffing changes show the pressure to adapt; whether that adaptation pays off economically is not yet established.
