Renk Group Targets Upper Half of EBIT Range as Analysts Look Past the KNDS Headline

Renk keeps 2026 adjusted EBIT guidance of EUR 255-285 million, aiming for the upper half as Jefferies and mwb Research stay Buy-rated.

Renk has reaffirmed its full-year guidance and described business as running to plan, shifting investor attention squarely onto profitability rather than order intake. Management is aiming for the upper half of its forecast range for 2026, with better margins and a favourable product mix in the final quarter expected to do the heavy lifting. The year is not yet closed, however.

Adjusted EBIT is guided at between EUR 255 million and EUR 285 million for 2026. The company's statement does not constitute a guidance raise — it simply narrows where within the existing corridor Renk intends to land. Analyst sentiment has firmed in the wake of the business update.

Jefferies models a 17% year-on-year increase in adjusted operating profit for the third quarter of 2026 and forecasts full-year adjusted EBIT of EUR 282 million. The broker points to improved margins in the VMS segment as the principal driver, supported by an expected favourable product mix in the closing quarter. Accelerated deliveries to Israel should also underpin earnings. On that reading, the upbeat case rests as much on the composition of shipments as on fresh order wins. Jefferies reiterated its Buy rating and EUR 60 price target today; mwb Research likewise stays at Buy with a EUR 53 target.

Both houses share the same positive direction, though their reasoning makes clear that the anticipated earnings strength still needs to be confirmed by actual trading. mwb Research estimates that the adjusted EBIT margin improved by roughly 100 basis points across the first nine months of 2026, with revenue growth set to return to double digits in the third quarter.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?

Even so, the analysts stress the weight carried by the final three months, which must sustain the full year and accounts for the bulk of the Israel volumes. A better margin trajectory therefore does not mean Renk has already locked in its annual targets. What matters is whether the planned deliveries and the expected product mix genuinely feed through to the bottom line.

A Contract With a Long Horizon

Separately, the order extension agreed with KNDS Deutschland a little over a week ago carries a value of around EUR 130 million. It covers HSWL-354 transmissions including control units and gear selection switches for the Leopard 2 and its vehicle family. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2029 and wrap up in 2032.

That timeline is inseparable from any assessment of the deal. The agreement documents contracted business for later shipments; on its own it is neither an earnings figure nor a statement about margin. Treating the full order value as an immediate earnings driver would skip a crucial step in the analysis.

By the same token, today's share price move of -0.9% offers no independent verdict on the quality of the contract. Reading a single day's decline as a refutation of the order announcement would be as short-sighted as drawing the opposite conclusion.

Renk Group at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Two Dates That Matter More Than the Tape

The full nine-month results land on 5 November, accompanied by a conference call. A strategy update covering maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as capacity expansion is scheduled for 8 December.

For investors, the test is straightforward. The confirmed guidance and the push toward the upper half of the earnings range are encouraging signals, but whether they translate into a correspondingly strong annual result hinges largely on execution in the closing quarter. Order announcements and earnings reports serve different purposes, and conflating the two bypasses a substantial part of the due diligence. The KNDS contract is a plus — not a licence for an optimistic valuation. The investment case becomes more persuasive only once the numbers make visible the economic quality behind the order book.
