Renk Lifts Nine-Month Order Intake 33.6% as UK Submarine Drive Deal Closes

The acquisition cleared all regulatory approvals and completed on 2 November, bringing with it an order book and pipeline together worth more than GBP 700 million across 2026 to 2030 — a figure that bundles signed contracts with potential future business.
The closing lands alongside a strong set of nine-month figures for 2026. Order intake reached EUR 1.66 billion, up 33.6% year on year, while the order backlog stood at EUR 7.6 billion at the end of September. That backlog figure is a snapshot at the reporting date, whereas the David Brown Defence number also folds in pipeline.
Revenue for the period rose 5.8% to EUR 982.0 million, and profitability improved faster still: adjusted EBIT climbed 12.7% to EUR 158.8 million.
Guidance Held for 2026
Management is sticking with its full-year outlook for continuing operations, targeting revenue of around EUR 1.4 billion and adjusted EBIT of between EUR 240 million and EUR 255 million.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?
The stock had a choppy week around the release. Rheinmetall's profit warning knocked the whole sector on Thursday, and Renk fell almost 7% at one point despite reporting the sharp jump in nine-month orders — a move dpa-AFX attributed to the read-across from its larger peer. JPMorgan analyst David Perry said the slide in Rheinmetall's shares was spilling over into other names in the sector. By Friday, Renk had steadied, adding 0.3% to close at EUR 34.80.
CEO Adds to His Stake
Chief executive Dr. Alexander Sagel used the dip to buy shares, picking up stock on Thursday in a mandatory disclosure showing an aggregate transaction value of EUR 238,802.94.
On the product front, Renk reported progress on 30 October with its HSWL-406 transmission for future heavy tracked vehicles, eyeing deployment in international procurement programmes including Italy's NMBT effort. The announcement stopped short of naming any order award to Renk.
