Renk's Order Book Is Full; Now the Factory Floor Has to Catch Up
Published on 11/07/2026 at 15:01 | Editorial boerse-global.deRenk's chief executive has put €238,802.94 of his own money behind the defence supplier's prospects, picking up 6,790 shares at an average of €35.17 apiece — a purchase that landed on Thursday, the same day two of the Street's bigger names reiterated their bullish calls on the stock.
Alexander Sagel's open-market buy came against a rough patch for the share price, which has shed 5.6% over the past seven days. Much of that softness traces back to Rheinmetall's profit warning, which knocked sentiment across the German defence complex.
Two Banks, Two Targets, One Message
Jefferies kept its buy rating and €60 price target, with analyst Chloe Lemarie writing that the quarterly results had largely matched expectations. JPMorgan, for its part, reaffirmed its overweight stance and stuck with a €50 target. Both notes were dated Thursday.
The numbers behind that confidence are hard to argue with on the top line. Order intake for the first nine months of 2026 reached €1,664.4 million, a 33.6% jump on the prior-year period, and the backlog stood at a record €7.6 billion at the end of September.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?
Converting that pipeline is where the story gets more complicated. Reuters reported that Renk has flagged a slower-than-expected translation of its backlog into revenue because of delays in major programmes. Revenue for the nine-month stretch came in at €982.0 million, up 5.8%, while adjusted operating profit climbed 12.7% to €158.8 million — a margin of 16.2%.
Management insists there are no bottlenecks in turning orders into sales, though work delivered by prime contractors could still push revenue to the right.
Guidance Held, With a Fourth-Quarter Caveat
For the continuing business, the executive board left its full-year outlook untouched: roughly €1.4 billion in revenue and adjusted EBIT of €240 million to €255 million.
Getting there will mean managing some fourth-quarter friction. Renk has flagged potential charges from strikes, overtime and shift costs, and how large those turn out to be will determine how much of the extra business actually reaches the bottom line.
The recently closed acquisition of David Brown Defence is expected to add around €20 million in revenue and €2 million to €3 million in operating profit in the fourth quarter, giving the annual guidance one more concrete building block.

Engineering Wins Beyond the Order Book
Product news has kept coming. On 30 October, Renk reported progress on its HSWL 406 gearbox for future heavy tracked vehicles, rated for output of up to 1,400 kilowatts, with development aimed at international programmes including Italy's NMBT effort.
A day earlier, ahead of Euronaval 2026, the company unveiled maritime propulsion solutions for uncrewed surface vessels. Renk Magnet-Motor also booked an order from Saab for three Stirling power generation systems destined for a submarine programme run by a NATO member state.
For shareholders, the insider purchase and the analyst endorsements point the same way — but the thesis only holds if Renk delivers on the backlog and keeps a lid on the added costs.
