Rheinmetall's stock closed Friday at €1,032.60, down 2.0%, as jitters over prospective Ukraine peace talks weighed on German defence names. According to media reports, the sector-wide pullback stemmed from investor nervousness ahead of talks between Russia, Ukraine and the US slated for Abu Dhabi in the first half of November — not from any specific company announcement. The decline came even as the Düsseldorf-based group confirmed fresh business on two fronts.

Artec Order Covers 69 Vehicles Split Between Two Armies

Artec, a joint venture between Rheinmetall and KNDS Deutschland, has booked an order for 69 vehicles valued in the mid-three-digit million-euro range, according to company figures. Thirty-five of the units are destined for Germany and 34 for the Netherlands, meaning the contract serves the same two armed forces that have just begun receiving Rheinmetall's Caracal series vehicles.

First Caracal Handovers Completed in Ede

Rheinmetall reported on Friday that it delivered the first production Caracal vehicles to the German and Dutch militaries at a ceremony held Thursday in the Dutch town of Ede. More than 1,500 of the vehicles are scheduled for delivery to the two forces by 2030.

Kassel-Calden Arson Investigation Underway

Separately, dpa-AFX reported on investigations into suspected arson at a Rheinmetall construction site at Kassel-Calden airport. Three construction vehicles burned in the night to Friday, and additional machinery was damaged. Police were examining a purported claim of responsibility published online, while Tagesschau reported that the state security service was also investigating. Authorities suspected arson, though no confirmed cause of the blaze has been announced.

Analysts Cut Targets but Keep Buy Ratings

Deutsche Bank Research lowered its price target for Rheinmetall on Tuesday to €1,650 from €1,800 while reaffirming its buy recommendation. Per a dpa-AFX report, the bank flagged an expectations dilemma ahead of the capital markets day and uncertainty over short- to medium-term order intake. UBS had already trimmed its own target on 20 October, to €1,360 from €1,600, also maintaining a buy rating — leaving both houses with lower targets but unchanged positive stances.

Telford Gun Hall and Euronaval on the Agenda

On the operational side, Rheinmetall opened its "UK Gun Hall" in Telford on 22 October, a facility the company says is dedicated to independent manufacture of large-calibre weapons in the UK. Rheinmetall also announced Friday that it will present its naval portfolio at Euronaval, running 3–6 November 2026, including the Kraken K3 drone, the Millennium Gun naval cannon and the MASS decoy system. Investors will get their next look at the numbers on 5 November 2026, when the company is scheduled to publish its third-quarter 2026 report.
