Rock Tech Lithium has kicked off its first exploration programme across the 9,875-hectare Victory project in northwestern Ontario, targeting two known lithium occurrences and the six-kilometre corridor that links them. The company expects initial results in early 2027, with a maiden drill campaign pencilled in for later that same year — meaning the survey work now under way should be in hand before the bit ever turns.

The exploration push is only one strand of a busy week for the lithium developer. On Wednesday, Rock Tech named Phineo founder Andreas Rickert as an external strategic adviser, tasking him with sharpening the company's strategic positioning and helping to manage dialogue with prospective investors and partners.

Rheinmetall Report Still Without Confirmation

Speculation about who those partners might be has swirled since Bloomberg reported on 16 October that Rheinmetall had taken a minority stake in Rock Tech and was weighing an investment in the planned lithium converter in Guben. Neither company has confirmed the stake or any involvement in the converter project, leaving both the reported shareholding and the possible project-level commitment unverified.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Rock Tech Lithium?

Rock Tech's own disclosure offers only a partial window onto its investor base. Its completed private placement raised roughly C$6 million, of which an unnamed strategic investor subscribed C$3.25 million. According to Rock Tech, that investor was also expected to participate at project level in the Guben converter — an expectation the company set out, rather than a completed investment. Rock Tech did not identify the strategic investor when it announced the closing of the placement.
